A Ticket to Anywhere

Walking through the city as the sun descends for the day is a perfect time for photographs. Golden hour produces a beautiful light, especially on buildings such as the Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus in Mumbai. Formally know as Victoria Terminus Station, the station building was completed in 1888 after 10 years of construction. It is now a designated a UNESCO world heritage site in 2004.

Composing a photograph to tell a story of this building is difficult due to the sheer scale of the structure, (as well as taking care to not end up in the traffic on the busy road just in front of the building). The goal of the photos in this post is to capture the size of the terminus along with the movement of city commuters walking at the base.

Sitting facing the terminus building is a Government building, reflecting the colours and scale. Busy roads separate these two buildings.
